Privacy Policy

StudioFeel respects your privacy. This page explains what information the app and the website collect, why, and how we handle it. The short version: your audio never leaves your phone, we don't collect analytics, and we don't sell or share data.

1. What the StudioFeel app does not collect

• Audio content of any kind. StudioFeel processes audio in real time on your device. No audio leaves your phone.
• Usage analytics or telemetry. The app does not phone home about how you use it. There is no SDK that reports events back to us.
• Files, photos, contacts, calls, or messages. The app does not access any of these and does not ask for the permissions that would let it.
• Location data, advertising identifiers, or hardware fingerprints. The app does not collect any of these.
• Crash reports. The app does not send crash dumps off device. If you want to report a problem, please email us.

2. Permissions the app uses, and why

Android shows each permission at the moment it's requested. None of them result in data being sent off your phone.

• Foreground service / media playback — lets the EQ engine stay attached to the system audio session even when StudioFeel isn't in the foreground.
• Notifications — the persistent notification keeps the foreground service alive and lets you toggle the engine or change presets quickly.
• Visualizer audio access (Record audio) — Android groups the Visualizer API under the microphone permission for privacy reasons, but StudioFeel does not record from the microphone. The permission only enables the live spectrum / oscilloscope / bars on the Visualizer tab. The EQ engine works without granting it.
• Modify audio settings — required to attach the EQ processor to the system audio session.
• Bluetooth connect — used to read the name and codec of paired Bluetooth headphones so you can assign per-device EQ rules.
• Battery optimisation exemption — on Chinese OEM phones (Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo, OnePlus) the system aggressively kills background services. Whitelisting StudioFeel keeps the EQ from cutting out. You grant this on a system page and can revoke it any time.
• Notification listener access — optional. Only needed if you use per-app preset rules. StudioFeel reads media notifications to detect which app is currently producing audio so it can switch presets automatically. The content of those notifications never leaves your device. If you don't use per-app rules, skip this permission entirely.

3. What we collect

We only have what you actively send us:

• Email correspondence. If you write to us — for beta access, support, or feedback — we keep your messages so we can answer them and follow up.
• Newsletter sign-ups, if and when we offer one. Optional, with one-tap unsubscribe.
• License payments (after the trial). When pricing is finalised and you choose to purchase a license, payment will be handled by a third-party payment processor — either Google Play Billing or a separate provider. We will only see your name, country, and the amount; no payment-card details touch our servers.

4. Google Play

The app is distributed via Google Play. Google Play collects standard install / device information governed by Google's own privacy policy — we don't see any of it tied to you personally. We may see aggregate, anonymised crash statistics through the Play Console; those reports never include audio or personal content.

5. Cookies and website analytics

studiofeel.in does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising networks. Basic, anonymous server logs (page views, status codes) may be retained briefly for site reliability.

6. Data retention

Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to support you. You may request deletion of anything we hold by writing to hello@studiofeel.in, and we'll act on the request within a reasonable time.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent for any data processing. Email hello@studiofeel.in and we will respond promptly.

8. Children

StudioFeel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the “Last updated” date above will change. Material changes will also be flagged inside the app on next launch.
